RNIB - Spectrum Shift

Creating an accessible game to teach game developers about developing accessible games.

Creating an accessible game to teach game developers about developing accessible games.

The idea. RNIB wanted developers to adopt its ‘Designed for every gamer’ Dev Kit. So we made Spectrum Shift: an accessible game that teaches game accessibility.

How it worked. An inventor and his trusty drone C.A.P.S. fix a broken world to make it accessible again. Built from scratch in Godot, which taught us exactly why the Dev Kit is needed.

My role. Game director. And thanks to the figures of The Inventor and C.A.P.S., finally a toy maker.

76% vs 15%

76% of gamers with sight loss say it affects their ability to play. Only 15% of game developers are making accessible games.
