RNIB are on a mission to make gaming accessible for blind and partially sighted people.

According to their 2022 study 76% of gamers with sight loss say their condition effects their ability to play games whereas only 15% of game developers are making accessible games. RNIB have formed an accessible gaming panel called 'Designed for every gamer' and commissioned a white paper 'Dev Kit' which lays out best practices game development.

Our job was to raise awareness of this rallying call. Introducing Spectrum Shift, an accessible game which teaches game accessibility. Spectrum Shift follows an inventor and his trusty drone C.A.P.S. as they forced to fix a broken world to make it accessible for everyone again. Built in Godot with all the elements being created from scratch we has learned so much about building games, mainly it's not easy, which underlines why the Dev Kit is needed.

What's more, to boost awareness of the game we have commissioned figures of The Inventor and C.A.P.S. - finally I have become a toy maker.

This is currently a work in progress, watch the trailer on the right to get a feel for the game and watch this space for a 2025 launch.
